General information about our privacy policy

We believe in giving Users reasons to return to our site and we therefore try to offer Reliability and Security as well as protecting their privacy to the fullest extent permissible. However we suggest that you practice reasonable discretion with any site when disclosing your personal information. If you post personal information in publicly accessible places such as bulletin boards, message boards or chat rooms, this information becomes available to anyone with access to the Internet. Therefore, do not post any information in these public areas which you do not want others to see. What information do we collect?

We track your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, which helps us to better administer our site. Your IP address is also used to collect demographic information i.e. time zone, your location or internet service provider. We may also collect aggregate information on how people use the site so that we can built up an understanding of traffic patterns, which enables us to provide a better service.

We store browser types, duration times, links to and from our services and all information contained in the database. Unless stated in any policy or the user's agreement we do not supply, transfer or exchange your information with or to any third party.

We use a feature of your browser called a "cookie" to assign identification to your computer. This unique 'user identification tag' automatically identifies your computer each time you visit the site. Note: Cookies by themselves cannot be used to identity a users but may be utilised along with identity information within log files to match a users information. You can turn off the cookies feature on your browser via the preference option button, however, if you do so you may not be able to fully utilise some of our services.

Where we charge (or provide additional) services we may require you to provide us with additional personal information before we will allow you access to that service.

We may collect credit card information if you use any of our chargeable services or pay for goods, which we offered on the site. Although we use a secure server and encryption. This is an area, which we keep under constant review.

We may also use certain users logging details [where access to the site has been provided by a third party] for accounting, cross referencing and to verify numbers.

We may conduct e-mail or database collating surveys or ask users for a variety of information (e.g. marital status). You may opt-out these survey mailings (see below). This information is to help us provide a better service and may be passed to our strategic partners.

How do we use your data?

We collect data to improve our service and your site visit. We analyse what users prefer in order to improve the look and feel of the site. We may email you monthly or bimonthly newsletter/bulletins or information about new products and services that we believe you will find useful. It is our policy to send these products to users who give us permission and in every product include instructions on how to unsubscribe and avoid receiving any future emails. We may contact you by email to reply to a complaint or to address a problem affecting your use of the service/database or to verify your other information.

With whom do we share your data?

We may disclose your personal (including database) information to our strategic partners in order to provide you with your requested service or to companies that offer a co-branded version of our site. We may share aggregate information with our advertisers. We may disclose your personal information to a third party if we believe in good faith that the law or a legal process required it. Although we do not have any control over or responsibility for the data collection practices of others, we do ask that they comply with our standards.

We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information. We reserve the right to rent or transfer in full or part our services, site or database including all or part of the details contained thereon. However users can request that their details are not included.

Letters, comments and emails sent to us may be used for testimonial purposes on the site or in promotional literature but will be withdrawn from the site if requested.

How to amend your data

All Users can review, modify and amend their database information as often as they wish. Users can also modify personalised services by following the links on those pages.

What is our Opt Out policy

We provide you with the opportunity to opt out of receiving communication from us or for your data/information to be used except as specified under this policy, usually at the point where the information is requested. We also include details on how you can unsubscribe from our email correspondence so that you will not receive future documents from us.

How can you unscribe or delete your data?

Subject to the provisions contained in the Users Agreement you can deactivate your membership from our services, by following the applicable procedure.

We do not delete your user information from our database but will only use it in compliance with the Users Agreement and this policy.

You can delete the cookie stored on your computer, but this may cause you to be perceived as a new user. However you can still change the setting in your browser not to accept cookies but this could prevent you from receiving some our services.

Your information is automatically deleted from our database after a certain period of time however while it is stored on our database we will.

Messages posted on our bulletin boards are deleted after the period of notification specified in the message. Information contained in our chat rooms is deleted every 24 hours.

Security and Hacker

We try to take all viable commercial measures to ensure that your information is only accessible by the users who initially entered it or by authorised strategic partners or us.

We are committed to the security of your information and we have security procedures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information whilst in our control. We use a secure server together with updated encryption software as well as secure socket layer technology for our credit card transactions. If you do not have a secure browser you should take extra care when disclosing your credit card details. Although we incorporate a variety of security measures to protect your information, our database and restrict unauthorised access to the database, all users must accept that no system is 100% secure. We can never guarantee complete security or that the site and database will not be subject to viruses or unauthorised access.

What happens with your credit card details?

We may collect credit card information, if you pay for any of our chargeable services offered on our site. We utilise a secure server as well as using our best efforts to protect your credit card details and transactions using encryption technology and protocols and we insist that any strategic partner we use operate similar procedures. Where we are acting as an agent during transaction we may be required to supply information necessary to facilitate the transaction.
